Gregory James Smith has received numerous awards and recognition throughout his career, including from: Colorado Bar Foundation (Fellow Emeritus); Regis University (Ten-Year Service Award); Continuing Legal Education in Colorado, Inc. (William E. Doyle Service Award); Colorado College (Lloyd E. Worner Award); and Medical College of Wisconsin (Outstanding Graduate School Educator).
He has an AV rating from Martindale-Hubbell (a peer rating for the highest level of professional excellence in law).
Education
Gregory James Smith received a BA in history from Colorado College, a JD from Cornell Law School, a Master of Humanities from the University of Colorado Denver, a Master of Arts in Bioethics And Health Policy from Loyola University Chicago, and a Doctor of Bioethics from Loyola University Chicago.
Professional Organizations
Gregory James Smith is general counsel for the Colorado Chapter of the American Physical Therapy Association (APTA) and the Home Care and Hospice Association of Colorado. He has also served on the board of directors for Continuing Legal Education in Colorado, Inc. and for the Colorado Healthcare Ethics Forum.

Gregory James Smith is a member of the Denver Bar Association, the Colorado Bar Association, and the American Bar Association. He is also a member of the American Health Law Association and the American Society for Bioethics and Humanities, and he’s an affiliate member of the Home Care and Hospice Association of Colorado.

Personal
Gregory James Smith grew up in Grand Junction, Colorado and has spent most of his life in Colorado. He and his wife Marcia enjoy travel with friends and family, golf, reading, music, the arts, and following their favorite sports teams (Colorado College Tigers ice hockey team, the Denver Broncos, the Denver Nuggets, the Colorado Avalanche, and the Colorado Rockies). Marcia is a professor emerita from Regis University, and their son Patrick is an audio engineer in Denver.
